Our Journey

What began as a simple idea — to read nature through the colors of pollen — has grown into a full-scale project bridging ecology, technology, and innovation. From early sketches and field experiments to working prototypes and data collection in real hives, our journey has been shaped by curiosity, collaboration, and the belief that bees can help us understand the world better.

We’ve faced challenges, learned from the field, and evolved through every iteration. Chroma Hive is more than a research project — it’s a movement toward smarter biodiversity monitoring and a new way of seeing nature through the lens of science and AI. This is our story, and it’s only just beginning.

DAY 1

ChromaHive

Firstly we all suggested some innovation project ideas, and we chose the project that was liked the most by the plurality.

DAY 02

ChromaHive

Every subgroup had their own tasks. Team Aris began with the scientific validation, found the bibliography and created a Pilot Experiment Proposal. Team Zeus defined the theoretical framework for the project, team Posidonas chose the optimal hardware, team Afroditi conducted research on the project’s business plan and impact and last but not least, team Nemesis created a sample website and the first version of our logo.

DAY 03

ChromaHive

Teams Zeus, Posidonas and Aris collaborated and finished the scientific validation and teams Aphroditi, Artemis and Nemesis extended the research about the business plan and the impact of our project. Also, a subgroup started creating a mobile application.

DAY 04

ChromaHive

The fourth day,  groups completed the final paper and presentation, and the website was developed further.
